Since the student seems to struggle with the text and appears to be describing the pictures, more than reading the words, we can understand the rationale for marking this unscorable.
However, for younger students, this can be a way of engaging with the text, and the student successfully says a couple of the words. For these very early readers, even if they are only able to say a small handful of the words, it is helpful to provide teachers with this information for what the student is able to do, rather than returning an assessment that was not able to be graded.
For these reasons, we would want to make a best effort to grade this recording.
